Is your discomfort with managing anxious or special-needs patients holding you back from treating these populations? Patients who suffer from situational anxiety, phobias, autism, Alzheimer’s Disease, who are too young to be cooperative, or who are mentally challenged present particular management problems for the dentist and his or her staff. In this course we will explore common misconceptions about treating special-needs patients. Then, you will learn how to successfully manage anxious patients and most special-needs patients in your dental office by using simple techniques such as nitrous oxide, oral sedation drugs, Velcro® restraints, and mouth props. Find out how to easily expand your practice by serving these additional patient populations.
