The course objectives are designed to instruct the healthcare provider on the importance of
medical records and informed consent and the potential impact upon the medical/legal world.
The course will review examples of both good and poor medical record keeping and how the
medical records are used in medical malpractice cases. The course will also review the
importance of a proper informed consent and how informed consent can impact medical
malpractice litigation. Finally, the course will review the elements of a Medical Malpractice
Claim.

This is a two-hour program designed to review medical errors and their impact in the
medical/legal world. The course is broken down into three sections:
1. The significance of healthcare records in litigation;
2. Informed consent in litigation;
3. Understanding medical malpractice litigation.
