The objectives of this course are too first enlighten the viewer as too the latest information and statistics regarding oral cancer. With this as a basis, it becomes essential to understand the role of a thorough head neck exam that includes direct visualization, fluorescence screening, followed by brushing type biopsies if appropriate or actual biopsy procedures. Though there is no one uniform system currently to detect and screen for oral cancer presently, it is the intent of this course to outline an approach that can be implemented to the viewer’s office as an initial starting point.

With decades of the same morbidity, it is the responsibility of dentists and hygienists to implement oral cancer screening programs into their offices. Early diagnosis and screening for all of our patients has to become the standard of care within our profession. This course will give the viewer an overall understanding of Oral Cancer and along with new associated risk factors. It will include new approaches to screening, along with case examples of how to implement a time and cost effective system into their offices.
